Dr. Diana Wu, DDS
Founder & CEO, Issaquah Premier Dental
Most dental care works like this: something hurts, something breaks, we fix it. Dr. Diana Wu practices differently. From the first appointment, she is already thinking about what your mouth needs to look like five, ten, fifteen, twenty years from now — and building a plan to get you there. Not reactive. Proactive. Not managing problems as they arise, but preventing them from arising in the first place.
That philosophy is not common in dentistry. It requires a different level of training, a different kind of attention, and a willingness to have honest conversations about what is coming — before it arrives. Dr. Wu has spent her career building exactly that capacity.
Education & Training
Dr. Wu earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2012, where she was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon — the national dental honor society that recognizes the top graduates of each class. During dental school, she was a three-time presenting author at the IUSD Annual Research Day and received the Hinman Student Research Symposium Award for Excellence in Student Research. She was also awarded the Eleanor J. Bushee Award by the American Association of Women Dentists for academic excellence and outstanding leadership.
That foundation of rigorous academic training was just the beginning. In the years since, Dr. Wu has pursued some of the most demanding continuing education available in dentistry — not to add credentials, but because she believes that the standard of care should keep rising throughout a clinical career.

How Dr. Wu Thinks About Your Care
The difference between a good dentist and an exceptional one is not just technical skill — it is the ability to see the whole picture and plan across time. Dr. Wu creates treatment plans the way an architect designs a building: with the end in mind from the start. Every recommendation she makes is filtered through a single question: what do we need to do now so that you are not sitting across from me in ten years dealing with a problem we could have prevented today?
This means she looks beyond the teeth themselves. She considers how you breathe, how you sleep, how your jaw functions, how your bite has changed over time, and what your imaging reveals about your bone, your airway, and your systemic health. A dental scan, used well, is not just a dental scan — it can reveal blocked carotid arteries, early osteoporosis, airway obstruction, and other findings that have nothing to do with cavities and everything to do with how long and how well you live.
Her clinical focus includes full mouth rehabilitation, smile design, airway health, TMJ and functional occlusion, and implant-supported restorations. But the throughline in all of it is the same: long-horizon thinking, honest communication, and a standard of care she would want for her own family.

A Little More About Her
Dr. Wu grew up in the Philippines, where she began her dental education at sixteen. She rebuilt her career and her life in the United States, and has been practicing for over fourteen years. She founded Issaquah Premier Dental in 2017 with the intention of building a practice where patients are known, not just treated — where care is continuous, relationships are real, and the work is done at a level she is genuinely proud of.
Outside the practice, she is a dancer, a videographer, a photographer, someone who chases beautiful landscapes with a drone, a hiker, a golfer in progress, and a person who takes food very seriously. She built this practice for patients who want to be genuinely cared for. If that's you, you're in the right place — and she is going to take good care of you.
